They came from Santa Barbra and went to live in L.A, where Jane takes a job at a party planner company, and scarlet is going to school.

We are drawn to them because they are both different people doing totally opposite things, and still manage to be best friends. The always want to see what happens next.

Are there any characters that you just cannot stand? Why not?

Jane’s boss is a very rude person. She is always telling everyone what to do, and doesn’t really appreciate what everyone does for her.

Morgan Kenny- (Summarizer)

So today was our first book club! I brought in munchkins and we had a very good discussion. We each discussed our views on the characters, and how they are going to end up. We think that they will end up taking the job with the T.V producer. We also think that it is funny how they are complete opposites, but remain best friends. We think that this book is very interesting and we can’t wait to read more!

This week we found out that Scarlet and Jane started out the tv but scarlet isnt that interested in the tv show anymore, but jane is. Also, Jane is starting to become more friends with the other cast members. So far we think the book is really good. we are excited to find out how the show ends up doing. We think Braden and Jane are going to end up together even though hes "with someone". and now hat the reality show is starting, everyones personality is changing when theyre around jane and scarlet.

The main themes are friendship and love. It is mostly about Jane and Scarlett. They are best friends and they move to L.A. together. Jane is working for a design company and Scarlett is going to school at USC. Also Braden is another main character. The bear that he gives to Jane is a representation of their relationship. She wants all the eyes on her.

Kristina Boele (Quotes)

Nicole Heytink (Summarizer)
Today we talked about how the relationship between the girls is changing and how the show is ruining it. Jane is totally obsessed with Braden and Jesse. We answered all the questions together and went over what we read. We think that Jane is getting to obsessed with her new life and is forgetting about her old life. We also think that she needs to fix her relationship with Scarlet. The show is good, but we think that it is a scam and that it wasn't a good choice for them. We want to know more about their love lives and what happens next on the show. We think that this show was a waste of time, because they didn't really get any benefits and it ruined their old lives.

Week Five: January 28 (LAST MEETING)

Assignment:
1. On your group's wiki page, discuss your final reflections on this book. Would you recommend it to peers? Why or why not? Has this topic been discussed more/less effectively in another book or books? Should this book be considered for the school's curriculum? (B)
2. Person B should share and discuss their selected quotations, using Save The Last Word techniques.
3. Person C should post the meeting summary on the group's wiki page after class.
4.Person D should share his/her questions with the group, as well as post the questions on the group's wiki page

Group Leader (Maria Kovoros)
I would recommend this book to my peers because it is an ideal book for people our age. The plot is very unique and I have not seen many books with the same story line. Although this book was very good, I do not think it should be considered for the school's curriculum. It is not very educational and would not be ideal for a school assignment.

Questioner (Nicole Heytink)
1. Do you think that Madison was actually planning on hurting Jane?
We thought she was going to brain wash her, but not hurt her. She wanted her to think that she was her friend so when Jane found out that Madison was the one who submitted the pictures, she would believe her.
2. Do you think that Jane should have broke it off with Jesse knowing the warnings people told her about?
Yes ! She was just trying to get Braden jealous.
3. Do you think that Jane should have told Scarlet more about her relationships?
Yes, she ruined their relationship because she was more focused on her relationship with other people, not Scarlet.
4.Do you think that if you were Scarlet you would have felt left out between the relationship between the new La candy girls?
Yes, because Jane was her best friend, and now that the show started, their relationship got ruined because Jane focused more on the show.
5. Would you have liked to know more about her job with Fiona Chen?
Yes, after the show started, Fiona acted fake, and we didn't know what her real job was actually like and how she would of treated Jane if the show never happened.

Kristina Boele (Group Summarizer)

This is our last meeting for the LA candy book club. This book club is shortened because we are working on another assignment in class. The book was really good, we all enjoyed it, the ending was very shocking though. The show is turning out really good, but peoples friendships have been getting worse, and worse. We couldnt believe Madison was just planning on hurting Jane. Jane and Scarlet's relationship faded out more and more throughout the book. The show caused a lot of drama, but over all this book was good.
